What Are We To Expect After That Last Performance?

By: Wiz | August 6th, 2007

I am back in town and did I get back in time or what?! I almost missed the 1-0 win over the Dynamo. Thanks for all of your posts while I was in the back country. Keep it up! Was it me or did the team look like a team? They were passing and building out of the back and through the midfield nicely in the 1st half and it seemed like they were working together as a complete team. I liked the tactics and the substitutions. Wingert and Kipre are great coming off those overlapping runs. They got wide and deep. Now we just need to have someone finsih their run to the far post and we might be able to score off those crosses. The backline was impressive…finally. I thought Sturgis had a rocky start but I still like his play. What more can you say about Findley? What did you guys think? Do you like the 4-3-3? How about the way these guys finished?

Onto the Argentines that are awaiting their work permits. We got some good insight into a couple of players from one of our posters (thank you). I believe we need someone to fill the shoes at center back when Eddie leaves. Attacking mid vs. left or right winger? Depends on the formation and tactics Kreis wants to play. If he likes the 4-4-2 then we definately need some help on the outside from the midfield. If he likes the 4-3-3 that attacking mid can really help out. I love the new kids and the core of players we currently have. I look forward to the official signings of these players.

boca juniors, I can’t wait to see the impact they will have. If these players can bring the style played in the Argentine league it will be very exciting! When my son (who plays center mid and center forward) saw how Boca was playing against RSL….attacking every 50/50 ball and the hustle they showed along with the individual skill he uttered, “Wow, Boca plays at full speed for every ball.” Add that to what we are starting to see now and look out!

Your guys played great, no doubt. Although a bit lucky on the goal… But even if Houston hadn’t messed up, a draw against them is very good (especially for you guys).

Sam, Thanks. But, that goal was just pure class. Did you see Findley pick his head up to see where the keeper was then just place a perfect shot? That was not luck….pure class. I know Onstad is a Canuck too but what is up with his hair-do? Are those grey streaks or did he shave his hair that way?
