Salt Lake v. New York: Recap
By: Akeem Samuels | September 15th, 2008Jason Kreis likely spent the flight back to Salt Lake City cursing about the referees.
Juan Pablo Angel and Dave van den Bergh each scored second-half goals to lift the New York Red Bulls past Real Salt Lake 2-1 Saturday night.
Yura Movsisyan gave the lead to Real Salt Lake 1-0 in the 38th minute after maneuvering past Gabriel Cichero and getting the ball past Red Bulls keeper Jon Conway
The Red Bulls were able to tie it 4 minutes into the second half when Angel got around Jamison Olave, who went down on contact, and slotted the ball inside the far post.
Later in the half, Dave van den Bergh hugged the offside line and beat Nick Rimando inside the far post for his sixth goal of the year.
RSL is holding on to second place in the Western Conference, one point in front of Chivas USA, which lost to New England, 4-0, Thursday night. Real plays at home against Chivas next Saturday, a crucial tie for what seems is the second playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Seriously? This team makes the playoffs and the conference finals for the first time ever, and nothing?
Weak.
