RSL goes to Chicago …
By: Ian Rose | May 27th, 2007Well, I’m frankly not optimistic, but with the way the Fire are playing, there’s certainly a chance. We are about two hours from game time in Chicago, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say 2-1 to RSL. I think it’s finally time for a win, and Chicago has looked truly awful the past few matches. Sorry there’s not more analysis on this … it’s been a very busy week … but there it is. I really hope Coach Kreis and the boys can at least put together a decent fight this week. It’s the first MLS game of the post-Cunningham era, and I’ll be really curious how the offense looks. It can’t look much worse than it has lately, regardless of who the striker is. Mehdi has to step up and push the ball forward, and I really hope it’s finally time for Freddy Adu to become what we’ve always known he can be, a true MLS superstar. Let’s go, Real.

What a dreadful game by two very mediocre looking teams. And I didn’t see much that screamed superstar from Adu, either, I’m afraid.

Yeah … I have to agree … Freddy looked really average. I wouldn’t be surprised if Coach Kreis made him a sub in an upcoming game. He’s decided that no one is safe, and benching Adu would certainly prove that once again.

Adu also whined like crazy the whole game. I noticed this went on an awful lot after he didn’t get calls; maybe hard to tell from TV, I’m not sure, but definitely noticeable at the game.
