Real Salt Lake Can’t Pull Off Win In Front Of 20K Fans
By: Wiz | July 5th, 2007Toronto FC 2 d. Real Salt Lake 1
I predicted a rough game and it certainly was. Not only were there 6 yellow cards and numerous fouls, that could have been yellow cards, but the fans (twenty thousand plus) had to witness RSL completley collapse in the second half. I don’t really want to even go into a game analysis. I am so sick of defensive breakdowns in critical areas that I can’t even begin to be objective about the game. I am wondering about the Cunningham goal though. From where I was sitting he was obviously offside. Did anyone see that on the broadcast? The game facts that I saw had RSL offside 4 times with Toronto 0 times. I don’t ever recall seeing something like that…zero times? RSL looked like they were playing for the tie in the second half…completely lacking any pressure like in the first half. Then the two substitutions, Kyle Brown for Robbie Findley and Jamie Watson for Andy Williams, which to me looked like we were just content to share the points with Toronto. Again, when I saw Kyle come on I couldn’t believe it! Is he really the only option we have? Note to RSL front office especially to Mr. Checketts, you only have so many magic bullets before you lose your fan base! You want to fill that new stadium? Then you have to win games at home, especially against expansion teams!
