Real Goes Against Colorado Rapids in Rocky Mountain Cup
By: Rocky Cole | May 2nd, 2009
Just a short post today because the speculation has been made and the real action has to be out on the field. Seriously, RSL has shown they can play a solid game in Utah at Rio Tinto Stadium, but on the road… well, as much as I hate to admit it, not so much. Following the record breaking game RSL played against the Revolution, RSL got thumped up in Seattle in a cup game. Sure, most of the offensive starters rested, but you know what, so did the Sounder’s starters. That said, it seemed like Jason Kreis made a decision that the league games were the keys, and that is where he placed the emphasis. RSL has won the RM Cup two years in a row, but as we’ve seen this season, every game is a battle and just because you did something last year (Columbus and Toronto take heed) it means nothing this season. The soothsayers at TheOffside have made a prediction that Colorado takes the match 2-1. Why? Because RSL has not won an away game. Doesn’t matter they hammered the Rev last weekend… so, my prediction…. 2-1 with RSL on top. I think Kreis made the right call on focus, and now it is up to the players to make it happen.
