MLS Predictor League: Week 3

By: Ian Rose | May 1st, 2007

Alright, last week was a tough one for most of us predictors. HERE are the overall standings. It was tough, that is, for everyone except Laurie, who smoked us all like some fine imported Herbalife. Andrew continued his dominance at the top of the overall tables, with Peter and Michael hot on his heels. A few of us bloggers, like Bob and I, had a rough week, while others, like Jeff Bull, took advantage of our mistakes to rise up a little in the rankings. Here are the games for this coming week - only six this week unlike the insane nine last week. Good luck everybody. As always, leave your predictions as comments.

Thursday
DC United v. New England [DC 1-2 NE]

Saturday
Kansas City v. Columbus [KC 1-1 CBS]
Real Salt Lake v. New York [RSL 1-3 NY] (Red Bull shutout streak ends)
Colorado v. Houston [COL 1-0 HO]

Sunday
DC United v. Chivas USA [DC 0-2 CHV]
New England v. Chicago [NE 2-1 CHC]

The Colorado-Houston is giving me some trouble. I’ve been so lucky these past two weeks, usually I’m terrible at these things. I’m calling my luck to end this week.

I’m experiencing performance anxiety and second-guessing myself and my picks for this week. It’s painful being a prodigy! I’ll get back to you tomorrow. :-)

Sorry I’m late to the party. No nerves…just issues with managing time. The picks, each and every one of ‘em locks (stop laughing! STOP IT! OH, it’s like middle school all over again!)

    DC 0-2 New England

KC 1-2 Crew (shameless homer call)
RSL 0-2 Red Bull (are fewer than no goals possible?)
Rapids 1-0 Houston (good, if dull game on paper)

DC 3-2 Chivas (carnival of defensive boners)
NE 1-0 Fire (teeth gritting already)

Yes, it’s true my brain doesn’t let me call ties. And I got to use the word “boners” in appropriate, non-dirty context. Yessss!

Yes, Jeff, I think fewer than 0 goals are possible, but only in Salt Lake. The official spread in Vegas is, I believe, Red Bull 7, Real Salt Lake -2.
