Kyle Brown, the definition of irony, and other crap
By: Fitz | March 4th, 2008The Houston Dynamo selected former RSL forward Kyle Brown in the waiver draft.
Also, RSL updated its scrimmage schedule in Argentina:
Tomorrow — Newell’s Old Boys (first team and reserves).
Sunday — Jockey Club Rosario
March 11 — Central Cordoba (reserves)
March 12 — Rosario Central (first team)
There’s really no other news to report on, so I’ll take a few minutes to empty out my useless little head:
** For those of you who don’t know the definition of irony, here it is: An opponent of AC Milan received a yellow card today for diving.
** With the addition of Philly as a 16th team, isn’t the time ripe to go to a single table in 2010?
** RSL needs a plural nickname. Don’t we? Suggestions? And is the Royals really as dumb as one reader suggested, especially considering “Real” means royal, and that the mascot is a lion, the king of the jungle?
** Laurie, who is our MLS editor here at The Offside, has asked us to answer some questions so all y’all can get to know us a little better. My Q&A is scheduled to run Friday.
** Do you think Edge has a chance to beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania? And how cool would that be? Discuss.
** Finally, I’m going to shill for a friend. He’s the McCain supporter on this YouTube video brought to you by the Passive Aggressive League …

The Royals sounds ok by me. Better than what I thought of: The Repressed Mormons. Doesn’t really strike fear into one’s opponents. How about the SLC Punks?

I’m partial to the Saltines, but don’t mind the Royals.

I personally love The Royals name. I have called RSL that privately for years and have even lamented they didn’t just name us that from the start( So I hate the name, shoot me)

Cameron –> I hate the Real Salt Lake name as well, however, I do understand why they did it. A tie-in that forces Madrid to come to Utah every two years is pretty cool.
