Excellent crowd in Toronto
By: Ian Rose | April 28th, 2007I know it’s a bit off of my beat here on the Offside, but I just had to make a little note here about the crowd in Toronto. It’s halftime in the Toronto FC v. Kansas City match, and I am extremely impressed with the home support. Considering that this is a new expansion team, and one that has gone its first three games with three losses and no goals, these are fantastic fans. The rest of the MLS should be jealous of this home support - this is the fullest-looking and fullest-sounding stadium I’ve seen yet this year. Not only are they present, and loud - they’re having a great time trying to annoy the KC keeper. If we can get a crowd like this for our ESPN2 games, it will mean great things for American soccer. Great job to TFC fans.

I agree! The Toronto fans were great! Having MLS diect kick, there is no doubt that all the games in soccer specific stadiums translate much better on tv! It is difficult to watch the games on turf in football stadiums with no crowd support…
