Chris and Freddy go to Rochester

By: Ian Rose | May 15th, 2007

Not much going on in Salt Lake today, so we instead move to lovely Rochester, New York, one of the premier soccer towns in the northeast US, and home of USL League 1’s Rochester Raging Rhinos. Today, the US Men’s U-20 team takes on Argentina in preparation for the U-20 World Cup this summer. Two of our RSL boys are on the squad, Chris Seitz and Freddy Adu, and Freddy is team captain. Adu had this to say about facing Argentina:

“We’re obviously playing against one of the best teams in the world. They’re the defending champions, so it’s going to be fun and we’re going to be up for it and hopefully the crowd support will be great.”

Good luck to Freddy, Chris and the rest of the US U-20s. They should be returning to Salt Lake on Friday to prepare for this Sunday’s match away at FC Dallas. My assumption is that between the absence of Seitz this week, and Rimando’s decent play in goal last week, we’ll see Nick Rimando between the posts for RSL, for at least one more game.

tough loss for the U20s. But the reports sound like both Chris and Freddy played well.
