Real Salt Lake’s Andrew Williams, who was born in Canada scored for Jamaica, in the 52nd-minute , 5 minutes after Julian de Guzman gave Canada the lead. The goal saved a crucial away point for the Reggae Rude Boyz. Jamaica is currently 2-0-3 in group stage opening matches since CONCACAF adopted its current qualifying format in 1992.
The only MLS player in the Jamaican starting XI was Real Salt Lake’s Williams.
The call up Williams might be seeing is the next CONCACAF qualifying day, September 6, when Jamaica will host Mexico in Kingston.
